About the Project iCue

Billiards is a precision-based sport that requires players to master fine motor skills, such as steady cue stick movement and precise aim. While professionals rely on coaching and advanced training tools that cost a lot, casual players typically do not have access to specialised resources for skill development. Current solutions mostly focus on game tracking or automated projection systems, but they do not provide real-time feedback on cue stick control or personalised recommendations. The aforementioned solutions that exist are quite costly as well.

iCue intends to address the gap by using a smart device developed with motion tracking sensors and a companion app. The complete system analyses cue stick movement, assess skill levels, and provide actionable feedback recommendations, providing a complete solution for improving billiards training.

A 19-year old Engineer?

Hey there! 👋 I’m Bilal, a tech enthusiast, aspiring AI researcher, and soon-to-be 19-year-old Computer Systems Engineering graduate InshaAllah. My journey into the world of technology started in the most unexpected way—watching Ready Player One. That movie sparked my fascination with innovation, and I’ve been on an epic tech adventure ever since.

From building robots that serve ice cream 🍦 and play tic-tac-toe 🤖 to exploring the depths of machine learning and AI, I’m all about blending creativity with technology to solve real-world problems. I’ve led research projects, won hackathons, mentored students, and even juggled roles as a society president and robotics lead. My passion lies in the intersection of robotics, AI, and making cool things happen with code.

When I’m not buried in code or tinkering with hardware, you’ll find me playing various sports, networking, organizing tech events, writing about AI and robotics, or dreaming up the next big innovation. I created this blog to share my journey and insights during the development of my next project adventure: iCue. Join me as I potentially use the power of technology to potentially revolutionize the world of billiards.
